About the Role

Job Summary

Reporting to a senior leader within Hardware Engineering, the Principal Technical Program Manager is responsible for driving the execution of complex silicon and hardware development programmes from concept through product release. The role coordinates cross-functional teams across silicon engineering, hardware systems, validation, product management, operations, and manufacturing to ensure successful delivery against technical, schedule, and business objectives. This individual will provide programme leadership across multiple workstreams, managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholder alignment throughout the product lifecycle.


The Team

The Hardware Engineering organisation develops advanced AI compute technologies spanning silicon design, hardware platforms, systems engineering, validation, and productisation. Working across highly multidisciplinary teams, the organisation is responsible for transforming innovative technology concepts into production-ready products. Technical Program Management plays a critical role in coordinating execution across engineering and operational functions, ensuring programmes are delivered efficiently and effectively.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of complex silicon and hardware development programmes.
  • Drive programme delivery across ASIC/SoC development phases, including architecture, design, verification, validation, and silicon bring-up.
  • Coordinate hardware platform development activities across electrical, mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering teams.
  • Establish and maintain integrated programme plans covering engineering, validation, qualification, and product release milestones.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies across silicon, hardware, software, operations, and manufacturing teams.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate programme risks, ensuring issues are resolved proactively and escalated appropriately.
  • Lead programme reviews, milestone readiness assessments, and executive reporting activities.
  • Drive systems-level planning and coordination to ensure alignment between hardware, firmware, software, and platform deliverables.
  • Partner with productisation and manufacturing teams to support production readiness, qualification activities, and successful product launch.
  • Facilitate prioritisation and trade-off decisions balancing technical requirements, delivery schedules, and business objectives.
  • Develop and improve programme management processes, governance structures, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Influence senior stakeholders across multiple organisations to maintain alignment and drive successful outcomes.


Candidate Profile – Essential

  • 12 years of experience leading complex semiconductor, ASIC/SoC, or hardware platform development programmes.
  • Strong understanding of silicon development lifecycles, including design, verification, validation, and bring-up activities.
  • Experience managing large cross-functional engineering programmes involving hardware, systems, software, and operations teams.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles and complex product development processes.
  • Experience supporting productisation, manufacturing readiness, qualification, or production ramp activities.
  • Excellent programme planning, risk management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical and business stakeholders at multiple organisational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities within highly technical environments.

Desirable

  • Experience within semiconductor, AI infrastructure, high-performance computing, systems, or advanced technology industries.
  • Familiarity with silicon development, board design, systems engineering, manufacturing readiness, or productization processes.
  • Experience supporting geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of Agile, phase-gate, or hybrid engineering development methodologies.
