About the role
This is an exceptional opportunity to be involved in how artificial intelligence is adopted and diffused across the UK’s key productive and industrial sectors, and to contribute to global policy and practice through the knowledge and insights that work generates — sharing lessons learned and engaging with international partners to advance understanding of how AI can drive sustainable economic and societal impact.
The Stakeholder Engagement Manager will play a central role in delivering CADI’s mission by building and sustaining the relationships, communications and engagement activities that connect the Centre’s research and policy work with its key audiences.
Working closely with the Director, the postholder will lead on outreach to policymakers, industry, sector bodies and international partners, ensuring that CADI’s insights reach and influence the people and institutions that matter. The role sits at the heart of a dynamic, high-profile centre working at the science-policy interface on one of the most significant technology transitions of our time.
CADI is established as a joint centre with the World Economic Forum, offering an exceptional opportunity to engage with, learn from and build partnerships across the WEF's global Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) Network — an international network of independent centres that bring together the public and private sector to explore exponential technologies and drive their responsible adoption and application. This relationship provides access to global knowledge exchange, convening power and policy influence across the C4IR's international community of governments, businesses and researchers.
CADI is supported by the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology with a remit to develop science-policy interfaces to aid the adoption of transformative AI applications across the UK Industrial Strategy and chart pathways for their adoption across industry.
What you would be doing
- Leading on the development and delivery of CADI’s stakeholder engagement strategy, identifying and prioritising key audiences across government, industry, sector bodies, research funders and international partners, and building a coherent programme of engagement activity that advances the Centre’s objectives.
- Leading on the development and management of CADI’s relationships with policymakers in DSIT and across Whitehall, parliamentary stakeholders, and relevant government advisory bodies, ensuring the Centre’s work is well-positioned and well-understood within the UK policy landscape.
- Supporting the design and delivery of CADI’s AI Innovation Policy Labs, coordinating stakeholder participation, managing invitations and communications, and ensuring that the right people from tech sector, government, industry, academia and civil society are engaged in each Lab.
- Leading on CADI’s engagement with the WEF C4IR Network, coordinating participation in WEF activities, managing communications with WEF counterparts, and supporting the Director and wider team in building partnerships across the network.
- Leading on the development and delivery of high-quality written communications for external audiences, including briefings, newsletters, policy summaries, reports and digital content, ensuring that CADI’s outputs are clearly communicated and accessible to non-specialist audiences.
- Support the Director in business development activities, including preparing materials for funding bids, partnership proposals and stakeholder presentations, and maintaining a pipeline of engagement opportunities.
- Line managing the Events and Operations Officer, providing clear direction, support and development opportunities, and ensuring the effective delivery of CADI’s events and operational activities.
