How you keep the engine running with us
As our Senior Data Scientist you will be part of our Advanced Analytics team in Hoofddorp.
This team consists of data engineers, data scientists and business analysts who have various experiences and backgrounds.
The Data Science Lead will be your manager and coach.
What will you do?
As our Senior Data Scientist, you are responsible for guiding the team in building and improving tools that can analyze data and provide valuable recommendations.
Your work will directly support the company's goals by offering insights that help improve business strategies and outcomes based on data.
In addition, you are responsible for, among other things:
- Creating and improving systems that use data to predict future trends and provide helpful recommendations. This involves using advanced techniques to solve complex business problems and forecast upcoming patterns.
- Ensuring that the data used for analysis is accurate, trustworthy, and consistent. This includes improving how data is collected, ensuring it’s correct, and maintaining its quality across all projects.
- Developing and managing systems that collect and organize data from different sources, both inside and outside the company. This makes the data flow smoother and more efficient, so the analysis is quicker and more effective.
- Leading projects related to data science, guide the use of new technologies, and mentor less experienced team members to help them grow.
- Regularly meeting with key decision-makers to adjust goals and ensure that the analysis is aligned with the company’s priorities.
- Help defining the direction of data analysis projects and work with management to plan the future of these projects.
How you are valuable to us
You are a Senior Data Scientist who knows how to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. You can make sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. You are able to see ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.
In addition, you have:
- A master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or in a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience with machine learning, predictive modeling, and data integration.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and Databricks.
- Knowledge of programming (SQL and Python).
- Strong skills in data visualization with tools like Plotly Dash or similar platforms.
- Experience in working with Lean principles and driving continuous improvement.
- Full professional proficiency in Dutch is necessary.
