Data Scientist

Position Overview

The Senior Data Scientist will lead advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning initiatives to support data-driven decision-making across airport operations, commercial services, and enterprise functions.

The role requires strong mathematical foundations, practical machine learning expertise, and the ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advanced Analytics & Modeling

• Develop and deploy predictive models, statistical models, and machine learning algorithms.
• Apply linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistical inference in real-world problem-solving.
• Design forecasting, optimization, and classification models to support operational efficiency and business growth.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and hypothesis testing.

2. Machine Learning & AI Implementation

• Implement supervised and unsupervised machine learning models.
• Perform model validation, tuning, and performance optimization.
• Work on feature engineering and model interpretability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy models into production environments.

3. Data Visualization & Insight Communication

• Present insights using tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms.
• Translate analytical results into executive-level dashboards and reports.
• Communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.

4. Big Data & Cloud Platforms

• Work with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
• Apply big data processing concepts and tools (e.g., distributed computing frameworks).
• Develop and deploy data solutions using cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Ensure scalability, performance, and data governance compliance.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with business units, IT, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
• Support data strategy initiatives aligned with enterprise digital transformation.
• Provide technical advisory on analytics-related procurement and solution design.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or any related.
• Proven hands-on experience in Machine Learning model development and deployment.
• Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn) or similar analytical tools.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with big data technologies and distributed data processing concepts.
• Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
