Our BC offices are building another new team! This exciting initiative will bring together highly skilled data scientists, architects and developers to deliver an innovative solution to a client in the Public sector. We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect with deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, Microsoft cloud data technologies, data governance, integration, advanced analytics, and AI enablement. This key role supports multiple concurrent initiatives, ranging from Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance (DG) to analytics modernization, computer vision & AI, digital service modernization, identity and access redesign, and enterprise integration.

This architect applies deep technical expertise and executes hands‑on solution delivery, ensuring data is consistently designed, governed, integrated, secured, and effectively leveraged across the organization.

Your future duties and responsibilities

. Define and maintain the end‑to‑end enterprise data architecture, ensuring alignment across operational systems, analytics platforms, AI/ML environments, and digital applications
. Develop and own conceptual, logical, and physical data models across multiple domains and business areas
. Establish and socialize architecture standards, patterns, frameworks, and reusable components
. Produce detailed data specifications, lineage models, transformation mapping, and integration patterns
. Define entity models, survivorship rules, match/merge logic, hierarchy management, and golden record strategies
. Lead integration design between the MDM hub and upstream/downstream systems using Azure-native patterns
. Develop standards for metadata management, data classification, lineage, cataloging, retention, quality, and issue management
. Develop and implement data quality rules, assessment frameworks, monitoring dashboards, and remediation strategies
. Conduct and oversee data profiling, data cleansing, data migration planning, and risk-based prioritization
. Architect data environments that support advanced analytics, ML pipelines, MLOps, and computer vision workflows
. Ensure analytic and AI workloads have robust, governed, and trusted data foundations
. Work with data scientists and ML engineers to define data flows, feature stores, orchestration patterns, and model-serving integrations
. Design modern Azure-first data integration patterns, including: Event-driven architecture API-based data exchange Streaming and real-time patterns ETL/ELT with Azure Data Factory, Fabric, Synapse Pipelines
. Ensure all application modernization efforts align with enterprise data and governance standards

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

. 8+ years of experience in data architecture, including large-scale enterprise data solutions
. Deep experience in data governance, data strategy, metadata frameworks, and information architecture
. Expert knowledge of Azure Data Services
. Hands-on experience with data profiling, data cleansing, data mapping, and data migration
. Expert-level ability to translate business requirements into enterprise data models, specifications, lineage, and integrations
. Strong experience developing data-driven solutions, dashboards, and analytics products
. Experience with complex data integrations across multi-system environments
. Strong written and diagramming skills (conceptual, logical, flows, lineage)
. Experience delivering solutions within Agile sprint cycles

Desired Skills

. Experience with MDM platforms
. Experience with data warehousing architectures and dimensional modeling
. Knowledge of SQL Server architecture, T‑SQL querying, and performance optimization
. Familiarity with BI tools: Power BI (preferred) Cognos, MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc.
. Experience supervising or mentoring technical teams

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,000 - $160,000.
