AI Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the build, refinement and release of machine-learning models that power personalized content, offers and product recommendations
• Advise on experimentation and model testing approaches to ensure correct evaluation before rollout
• Optimize model performance, reliability and response-time behavior
• Drive improvements to shared AI infrastructure, including data pipelines, model-serving interfaces and monitoring
• Enforce engineering standards and best practices across teams using the platform
• Partner with data engineering, product and business teams to align platform capabilities with strategic needs
• Provide technical direction to engineers and data scientists across recommendation and personalization initiatives
• Maintain clear documentation and organize technical materials to keep ongoing work unblocked
• Coordinate cross-functional planning to clarify goals, priorities and dependencies
• Make tradeoff decisions that balance speed, accuracy, reliability and business value
• Ensure consistent delivery across model upgrades, new placements and user-facing improvements
• Guide the team in adopting AI solutions to accelerate the software development lifecycle

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and operating machine-learning systems in production
• Deep understanding of ranking models, recommendation systems and experiment design
• Hands-on experience with Python, Spark or similar tools, cloud-based ML pipelines and model-serving frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering discussions, guide team members and provide clear direction
• Strong organizational skills to manage complex projects and maintain structure during a temporary leadership period
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into clear action for partners and stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency in English (C1+)
