E-SENSE Innovation & Technology Ltd. is a biotechnology startup developing a proprietary medical grade portable medical imaging device (VitoCheck). VitoCheck is ready for soft launch and is undergoing certification. Our medical imaging technology has a wide range of healthcare applications, including early disease detection, multi‑organ functional assessment, and large‑scale community health screening. Through advanced electrical impedance tomography (EIT) and AI‑driven analytics, E‑SENSE aims to make preventive diagnostics more accessible, scalable, and affordable across clinical and community settings.

Our founders are PhDs and researchers from top-tier universities from US and HK with strong backgrounds in biomedical technologies, basic and translational research. Our research team is in partnerships with universities and research institutes in Hong Kong as well as worldwide, with topics in medical image processing, medical diagnostic machine learning and mathematical modelling.

We’re looking for a full-time Translational AI Scientist with requirements as listed:

Requirements:

• Graduated with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Computational Medicine, Data Science, Physics, or related field.
• Strong background in biomedical imaging (EIT, or other modalities).
• Experience with machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling.
• Demonstrated ability to work with large‑scale datasets.
• Strong publication record in imaging, and/or AI.
• Experience with clinical or community‑based health studies.
• Experience with questionnaire‑based risk scoring or epidemiological modeling.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills through innovations, hypothesis design and implementation analytically and quantitatively.
• Team player with effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• (preferred) Familiar with regulatory frameworks (ISO 13485, HIPAA).
• (preferred) Familiarity with explainable AI frameworks.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

• This role will focus on the development and launch of E‑SENSE’s next‑generation AI‑enabled medical screening ecosystem, including the VitoCheck portable imaging system and the new AI‑driven multi‑organ risk assessment tool for brain, heart, lung, liver, and kidney health. The position integrates translational AI research, clinical validation, and community deployment to support large‑scale preventive health screening. The job responsibility would be the following:
• AI‑Driven Risk Assessment Development (Design and validate a multi‑organ questionnaire integrating anthropometrics, lifestyle factors, and medical history; build and optimize AI models for multi‑organ risk prediction; Develop explainability layers to support clinical transparency and regulatory readiness)
• Large‑Scale Data Analysis & Validation (Extract and analyze datasets for cross‑organ risk modeling; conduct statistical modeling to validate predictive accuracy; identify feature importance and generate validation reports for internal and external stakeholders)
• Integration with VitoCheck System (Align questionnaire‑based risk scoring with EIT‑based organ health metrics; support integration of AI triage outputs into the VitoCheck software platform and backend infrastructure; collaborate with imaging scientists to harmonize multi‑organ pipelines)
• Field Testing & Community Deployment (Lead pilot deployments in Hong Kong clinics, NGOs, and community screening events; compare AI‑guided triage outcomes with VitoCheck results and refine thresholds; support VitoCheck demos, operation training, and exhibitions)
• Research Output & Knowledge Transfer (Prepare peer‑reviewed publications, white papers, and donor‑ready impact reports; support cross‑team knowledge sharing)
