The Opportunity

We are hiring a Senior/Lead AI Platform Engineer to architect and implement the generative AI layer of NEMESIS. You will be the hands-on technical driver behind:

• Enable Natural‑language interaction in various modules
• Design and Develop Scenario planning module
• On‑demand visualizations generated from conversational prompts
• Automated actions triggered through case management system and APIs

You will work as a senior individual contributor embedded within our development team — collaborating closely with product leadership, backend engineers, and domain experts — while serving as the internal expert on LLM/SLM technologies.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Generative AI Integration for NEMESIS

• Design, develop, implement LLM/SLM capabilities that enhance NEMESIS - model interaction, scenario creation, and visualization workflows.
• Build conversational interfaces in NEMESIS.
• Design prompt orchestration, retrieval pipelines, and agent workflows that interact with structured data and predictive models.
• Develop APIs, microservices, and backend components that embed generative AI into the NEMESIS platform.
• Implement visualization-on-demand capabilities driven by chat-based instructions.
• Integrate LLM outputs with Aviana’s case management system and external systems via API.
• Establish best practices for prompt engineering, safety, evaluation, and model lifecycle management.
• Influence architectural decisions related to generative AI, data pipelines, and platform scalability.
• Collaborate with product leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Elevate the Team

• Serve as the internal subject-matter expert on LLM/SLM technologies.
• Collaborate and mentor engineers informally and help raise the team’s generative AI capabilities.
• Contribute to roadmap planning and feature prioritization.

What You Bring

Technical Expertise

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, etc.) into real products/ applications.
• Strong backend engineering skills (Python, Node.js, or similar).
• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, retrieval pipelines, or agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with predictive analytics concepts (you don’t need to be a data scientist, but you should understand the workflows).
• Experience building APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.
• Experience and fluency in at least one of the cloud providers - AWS, GCP, or Azure

Product & Business Fluency

• Ability to translate business workflows into intuitive, conversational AI experiences.
• Comfort working with domain experts in insurance, credit unions, healthcare, or similar industries.
• A user-centered mindset — you think about how non-technical users will interact with the system.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $200,000.00 per year
