About the Role
Position Summary
6 months starting in July 2026Location: Station F (5 Parv. Alan Turing, 75013 Paris)
Samsung Design Innovation Center (SDIC) is looking for an AI & Computational Modeling Intern who is passionate about combining AI/ML, computational design workflows, and simulation-driven insights. You will help prototype and evaluate data-driven models that support product design and engineering decisions. Depending on the intern’s profile and project needs, the internship may focus on one of the subjects listed below. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work in a cutting-edge R&D environment, collaborating with designers and engineers in Paris, San Francisco, and Seoul.
The position is based at Station F in Paris, the world’s largest startup campus and one of the most vibrant global innovation hubs. Station F brings together leading startups, venture capital firms, tech leaders, and major innovation incubators under one roof, creating a uniquely dynamic and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Role and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
AI & Data-Driven Modeling:
- Develop and evaluate AI/ML models for predictive, surrogate, or generative modeling.
- Analyze model performance to support design and engineering decisions.
Computational Workflows & Tooling
- Contribute to computational pipelines involving geometric data (2D/3D, meshes, registration).
- Develop Python-based tools for data processing, experimentation, automation, and visualization.
Skills and Qualifications
Candidate Profile
- Proficient in English (speaking and writing).
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundations in machine learning and data analysis.
- Good Python skills and familiarity with common ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
- Familiarity with data/visualization tools (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, curious, and proactive.
(Nice to have)
- Exposure to computer vision (e.g., OpenCV) or 3D computer graphics.
- Familiarity with simulation concepts (FEA) or model calibration using experimental data.
- Experience with experiment tracking/versioning tools (e.g., Git, Weights & Biases) is a plus.
