About the Role

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer (Android & Web Development) to join our on-site team in North York, ON. In this role, you will bridge the gap between robotic hardware and cloud ecosystems, developing both the Android-based interfaces used on service robots and the robust web applications that manage them.

This position is ideal for a versatile developer who enjoys working close to hardware while building scalable full-stack architectures. You will take ownership of the end-to-end application lifecycle in real-world operational environments.

Note: This is a full-time / part-time, on-site position. Remote or hybrid work is not available.

Key Responsibilities

• Dual-Platform Development: Develop and maintain high-performance Android applications for robotic systems alongside responsive Full Stack Web applications.
• Modern UI/UX: Build and enhance intuitive user interfaces for robot interaction and remote monitoring using Jetpack Compose (Android) and Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Shadcn (Web).
• Real-Time Communication: Architect and support API integrations leveraging WebSockets for real-time device-to-cloud communication and robot control.
• Systems Engineering: Debug, troubleshoot, and test applications running on physical robots and distributed web servers.
• Agile Collaboration: Work closely with robotics engineers, hardware teams, and software developers within a fast-paced Scrum environment.
• Data Integrity: Maintain secure, offline-capable data handling and synchronization between edge devices and centralized databases.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional experience in both Android and Full Stack web development.
• Mobile Mastery: Proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with a deep understanding of the Android SDK, MVVM architecture, and Dependency Injection (Dagger/Hilt).
• Web Expertise: Strong command of JavaScript and TypeScript, specifically within the React/Next.js framework and its lifecycle.
• Backend & Infrastructure: Solid understanding of Client-Server architecture, Microservices, Docker, and Containerization.
• Data & Security: Experience with local databases (Room), RESTful APIs, and securing applications via OAuth 2.0.
• Critical Thinking: Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work in an on-site, team-based environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Robotics & AI: Interest in autonomous systems or firsthand experience integrating on-device AI/ML models (TensorFlow Lite, MediaPipe) and LLMs.
• Hardware Integration: Experience with dedicated devices, kiosks, or Android-embedded systems involving SLAM SDKs for navigation.
• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
