Research Speech AI Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Research Speech AI Engineer to design, develop, and optimize cutting-edge speech and audio AI systems. This role focuses on advancing speech technologies such as Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-to-Speech (TTS), speaker recognition, speech enhancement, and multimodal audio-language models.

You will work at the intersection of research and engineering — transforming novel ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesResearch & Development

• Conduct research in speech processing, audio signal processing, and speech-language modeling
• Develop state-of-the-art models for:
• Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR)
• Text-to-Speech (TTS)
• Voice cloning and synthesis
• Speaker diarization and verification
• Speech enhancement and noise suppression
• Explore transformer-based architectures, self-supervised learning, and large speech-language models
• Implement and experiment with cutting-edge techniques (e.g., wav2vec, Whisper-style models, Conformer, diffusion TTS models)

Engineering & Deployment

• Build scalable model training and evaluation pipelines
• Optimize models for latency, inference speed, and memory efficiency
• Deploy speech AI models to cloud or edge environments
• Collaborate with ML engineers and backend teams to integrate APIs and services
• Conduct model performance benchmarking and A/B testing

Collaboration

• Work closely with NLP, CV, and multimodal AI teams
• Publish research findings (optional depending on company)
• Stay current with the latest academic and industry advancements

Preferred Qualifications

• Published research in speech/audio AI
• Experience with multilingual speech systems
• Knowledge of low-resource speech modeling
• Familiarity with real-time streaming systems
• Experience optimizing models for mobile or embedded devices
• Experience working with large speech datasets

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 500,00€ - 800,00€ per month
