Lead AI Security Software Engineer

As a Lead AI Security Software Engineer, you will design agents that help product engineers solve security issues at scale in a reliable way. You will use modern frameworks, protocols, and patterns to implement solutions while ensuring the highest development standards are met.
A successful candidate will bring strong backend software development expertise, AWS cloud experience, and familiarity with common AI frameworks.
About the Role
- Build AI Security Agents – Design and implement intelligent systems that automatically detect and remediate security vulnerabilities across the platform
- Architect Scalable Solutions – Develop robust, well-documented APIs and infrastructure supporting enterprise-level security processes
- Drive Technical Excellence – Establish testing frameworks and development standards ensuring reliable and secure deployments
- Collaborate with Stakeholders – Work closely with security and engineering teams to deliver measurable security improvements
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Python development using modern frameworks
- Understanding of RAG and agentic LLM system concepts
- Proven experience building scalable REST APIs and microservices
- Hands-on AWS experience (IAM, SQS, S3, EKS, ECS, EC2)
- Infrastructure-as-Code proficiency (CDK or Terraform)
- Strong CI/CD pipeline experience with GitHub Actions
- Strong testing practices (unit, feature, regression, integration, end-to-end)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, vector databases)
- Familiarity with security scanning tools (SAST, SCA, IaC scanning, container scanning)
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and remediation strategies
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (preferred)
Project Details
- Duration: 6+ months
- Start Date: Immediate
- Location: Prefer Toronto area candidates able to visit the office twice per week
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months
Pay: $58.00-$68.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
