Reports To
Vice President, Sales – Public, Fleet & Auto
What You Will Be Doing
This role owns three connected functions: strategic account management for a portfolio of top-tier AV accounts, segment blueprint creation for the AV segment, and end-to-end project management of AV charging deployments — from site acquisition through installation, commissioning, and ongoing SLA-backed operations. Because AV operations run on mission-critical uptime requirements, this role requires hands-on project management experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, not just account and strategy ownership. The person in this seat reports to the Vice President of Sales, North America and acts as the connective tissue between account-level reality, deployment execution, and company-level decisions.
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
Segment Blueprint Creation
- Build and own segment-specific blueprints (robotaxi operators, AV logistics/delivery, AV testing and R&D fleets) that document customer economics, procurement patterns, technical/product requirements, and competitive positioning within each segment
- Translate blueprint findings into structured inputs for four functions: Product (feature and roadmap priorities), Policy (regulatory and incentive positioning), R&D (technical requirements), and Marketing (positioning and messaging). Own this as a standing feedback loop with defined cadence, not a one-time handoff
- Maintain and refresh blueprints against market, competitive, and policy shifts; define and track KPIs that indicate segment traction and blueprint accuracy
Strategic Account Management
- Own relationships for a portfolio of top-tier AV accounts; be the primary point of accountability for account health, growth, and retention
- Lead negotiation and contract structuring for major, complex, multi-year agreements
- Drive footprint expansion within key AV accounts, deepening existing relationships to secure large, repeat business as fleets scale
- Coordinate cross-functional pursuit teams (sales, marketing, legal, finance, product) on major RFPs and large bids, using blueprint data to sharpen proposal strategy
Deployment & Infrastructure Delivery
- Manage end-to-end project delivery for distributed architecture DCFC deployments, both with and without skid-based configurations, matching site constraints and account requirements
- Coordinate real estate acquisition through partner relationships, with ChargePoint retaining overall coordination and accountability for site selection, sequencing, and timeline
- Own installation and commissioning delivery through ChargePoint, ensuring projects meet technical specification and go-live timelines
- Structure and manage service level agreements built to mission-critical uptime performance standards, whether delivered through partners or directly by ChargePoint, and hold all parties accountable to those standards
Cross-Functional Enablement
- Act as the primary conduit from account and field intelligence into Product, Policy, R&D, and Marketing — accountable for ensuring blueprint insight measurably changes what gets built, priced, and messaged, not just that it gets reported
- Provide business case analysis, financial modeling, and ROI assessments to support major pursuits and investment decisions
- Track performance of segment strategies and deployment delivery against plan; adjust blueprints and account plans as the market evolves
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA a plus. PMP or equivalent project management certification a plus
• 8+ years of combined experience across strategic account management, infrastructure project delivery, and segment or market strategy — ideally within EV charging, energy, or mission-critical technology sectors
• Demonstrated success owning and growing enterprise-level commercial relationships, including negotiating complex, multi-year agreements
• Hands-on project management experience delivering multi-stakeholder infrastructure deployments (real estate, construction, installation) on schedule and to spec; AV or mission-critical uptime environments strongly preferred
• Ability to think strategically and act operationally — converting high-level goals into segment blueprints, account plans, and deployment plans that cross-functional teams can execute directly
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with experience building business cases and ROI assessments to support major pursuits and investment decisions
• Proficiency in market research, competitive analysis, and presenting findings to senior leadership
• In-depth understanding of the e-mobility landscape, DCFC hardware and site design (skid and non-skid distributed architecture), and mission-critical SLA structures highly preferred
• Comfortable with modern productivity and AI tools; able to build original presentations and data-driven deliverables
• Ability to travel frequently, including to active deployment sites, as required by the role
