Spotlight Pathology was founded to help save healthcare resources and improve cancer diagnostics by developing and integrating artificial intelligence decision support tools. Spotlight is an exciting growth company in the early stages of commercialisation and is recruiting to grow the development team.


Description


Spotlight Pathology is recruiting for an experienced computer vision and AI scientist to join the development team, developing artificial intelligence decision support software for blood cancer diagnosis. This will be a varied role as part of a small team. The successful candidate will be self motivated and enjoy learning new skills. They will thrive working in a dynamic environment and communicate well within the development team and with the wider organisation, engaging positively with all departments from quality assurance to commercial.


The role will involve:


  • Development of artificial intelligence models for supporting the diagnosis of blood cancers from digital pathology image data.
  • Evaluate algorithm performance and prepare data for regulatory submissions and scientific publications.
  • Collaboration with software engineers to deploy algorithms within our cloud environment.
  • Develop software in an ISO 13485:2016 certified environment for incorporation into software-as-a-medical-device (SaMD) products.

The role requires the following skill set:


  • A PhD, MSc or equivalent experience in computer vision, machine learning or artificial intelligence.
  • Strong engineering and software development skills. Particularly Python.
  • Experience using common machine learning and image processing libraries such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Scikit-learn, Scikit-image.
  • Excellent communicator, enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
  • Enthusiasm to solve problems using individual research.
  • Manage personal projects and ensure they are delivered on time.
  • Experience developing thorough test-suites to ensure software quality.
  • Experience with high-performance computing environments for deep learning applications and cloud infrastructure.

Desirable:


  • Experience working in medical image analysis, ideally histology and whole-slide imaging.
  • Familiarity with software development according to ISO 13485:2016, ISO 14971:2019 and IEC 62304:2006 standards.

This will be a remote/hybrid role which supports flexible working. Our team is based across the Liverpool City and Manchester regions with occasional travel required to this area.
