Mechanical Engineer - Marine Systems (Autonomous Vessels)

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with marine systems knowledge to join our R&D team developing an AI-powered Autonomous Marine Docking & AutoPilot System.

This role focuses on designing and optimising marine mechanical components, supporting propulsion and docking mechanisms, integrating sensor systems, and participating in real-world testing and validation.

You will work alongside AI, embedded systems, and navigation engineers in a fast-paced innovation environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimise marine docking and propulsion systems
• Develop mechanical assemblies for sensor and actuator integration
• Conduct structural and fatigue analysis for marine environments
• Support prototype development and sea trials
• Perform testing, validation, and mechanical performance analysis
• Contribute to R&D documentation and technical reporting
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams

About You

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Strong understanding of marine systems and vessel mechanics
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.)
• Knowledge of hydrodynamics and marine-grade materials
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-moving R&D environment

Desirable

• Experience in robotics, automation, or autonomous systems
• Exposure to sensor integration or control systems
• Experience in marine prototype testing
