About the Role
As the Lead Security Researcher, you will guide and mentor a team of 3 talented security researchers. You’ll set technical direction, champion innovation, and ensure research translates into impactful production solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role where your expertise will accelerate our AI-driven detection capabilities and make a tangible impact on the future of automated security.

What You'll Do

- Drive Vulnerability Research: Identify and develop new classes of vulnerabilities and pioneering detection techniques across web apps, APIs, and modern architectures.

- Innovate Detection Algorithms: Design, evaluate, and refine detection algorithms focused on high signal quality, accuracy, performance, and minimizing false positives.

- Turn Research into Impact: Translate research insights into robust, scalable detection logic for large-scale automated scanning.

- Balance Performance and Coverage: Assess trade-offs between scanner coverage, accuracy, and execution efficiency to deliver high-performance solutions at scale.

- Cross-Team Integration: Collaborate closely with the Scanners and Platform teams to ensure research is seamlessly integrated into production systems.

- Technical Leadership: Set the technical vision for the research team, review research approaches, and mentor researchers to develop their expertise.

- Stay Ahead: Monitor emerging vulnerabilities, exploitation methods, and evolving defensive techniques across the application security landscape.

About You

- 5+ years in security research or R&D (ideally product/applied focus)

- Deep expertise in at least one area of security or computer science (e.g. web security, program analysis, protocols, compilers, networking)

- Broad computer science fundamentals and cross-domain reasoning

- Skilled in at least one compiled language (C/C++, Go, Rust)

- Proven track record of moving research from concept to impactful, measurable outcomes

- Strong analytical mindset, intellectual curiosity, and high standards for rigor

- Comfortable collaborating with engineers to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions
