About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong Neo4j experience to build and operate the enterprise knowledge graph and retrieval backbone for an AI ecosystem. This role focuses on designing scalable data pipelines that transform enterprise data into a Neo4j backed semantic graph powering agentic reasoning and GraphRAG workflows.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on data pipelines, graph construction, performance, and reliability, not academic ontology work.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines from Microsoft Fabric lakehouse into Neo4j
- Transform structured and unstructured data into high-quality graph models
- Implement automated ingestion, delta updates, and scalable loading patterns
- Design and optimize Neo4j graphs (Cypher, APOC, indexes, constraints)
- Tune graph performance for agentic and GraphRAG retrieval
- Ensure data quality, lineage, monitoring, and auditability
- Collaborate with AI Architects and Agent Engineers on retrieval patterns
Required Skills
- Strong data engineering background (pipelines, orchestration, modeling)
- Hands-on Neo4j experience (Cypher, APOC, bulk ingestion, performance tuning)
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, ADF, or similar cloud data stacks
- Python or TypeScript for pipeline and integration work
- Familiarity with GraphRAG, retrieval systems, or RAG hybrids
Nice to Have
- Experience with regulated enterprise data (banking, finance, operations)
- Knowledge of vector stores and embedding pipelines
- Exposure to AI-driven or multi-agent systems
What We Offer
- Attractive salary
- Large freedom and real influence
- No unhealthy competition, team approach to meeting challenges
- Remote-first, flexible working culture
- Company apartments in cool cities across Europe: work and enjoy a memorable getaway
