Overview
We are seeking a Distinguished Engineer (Director‑level Individual Contributor) to lead the hands‑on architecture and build‑out of a Generative AI–native compliance platform. This role will define how regulatory requirements and controls are translated into traceable, auditable, production‑ready evidence using modern GenAI techniques.
This is a deeply technical, builder‑first role. You will define architectural patterns, validate them through working implementations, and establish the engineering standards that enable GenAI systems to operate safely in regulated environments.
What You’ll Do
- Architect and own the end‑to‑end design of a GenAI compliance engine, including RAG pipelines, agent workflows, data flows, policy‑as‑code foundations, and evidence traceability.
- Make critical GenAI design decisions, defining evaluation strategies, guardrails, and controls for regulated use cases.
- Build proofs of concept and reference implementations to validate architectural patterns and scale them to production.
- Write and review production code; set engineering, testing, and operational standards.
- Design approaches for compliance anomaly detection and structured policy generation from unstructured inputs.
- Integrate GenAI solutions with enterprise platforms and standards, partnering closely with internal GenAI, security, and compliance teams.
- Define repeatable patterns—figuring things out where no precedent exists—and prove them through execution.
What You Bring
- Experience as a Distinguished Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Principal Architect in a large, complex enterprise.
- Strong software engineering background with a track record of shipping and operating production systems.
- Deep expertise in AWS architecture.
-
Hands‑on experience building production GenAI systems, including:
- AWS Bedrock
- Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Agent and tool orchestration
- Model evaluation and guardrails
- Vector databases (e.g., Pinecone or similar)
- Experience with MLOps and operating GenAI systems in production.
- Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and move from concept to working software.
Why This Role
- Director‑level impact without people management.
- Ownership of foundational GenAI compliance architecture with enterprise‑wide influence.
- Equal emphasis on architecture, hands‑on engineering, and real delivery.
- Opportunity to define how regulated GenAI systems are built—not just reviewed.
