Research Assistant/ Engineer/ Postdoc Fellow (AI-Enabled Design and Automation) CPII2026-001

Job Description:

The appointee will join the Personalized Design & Fabrication Laboratory at Centre for Perceptual and Interactive Intelligence (CPII). The laboratory is directed by professors from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

• Research on one of the topics: AI-based human body shape capture and analysis, computational garment design, garment manipulation with robot-arms, and wearable applications
• Develop maintainable software for the research
• Author research papers or other technical documents
• Collaborate with teammates on related projects

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's / Master’s / PhD Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines
• Proficiency in Python or C++ is a must
• Experience in computer-aided design, computer graphics (geometry processing), robot simulation and control, and computer vision would be highly preferable
• Familiar with 3D modelling software (such as Blender) will be an advantage
• Good communication skills and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated character and good team player
• Appointment will initially be made on up to two-year contract commencing as soon as possible
• Immediate available is preferred
