About the Role
Commitment & contract: Full-time internship within the Erasmus+ Traineeship programme for undergraduate students enrolled in a master’s degree programme; the position requires a time commitment of 40 hours/week (full time)
Location: Center for Convergent Technologies, Genoa, Italy
Duration: 6 months
Start date: 15/09/2026 (flexible)
Compensation: No salary granted by IIT (applicants must rely on funding from their University’s Erasmus+ programme)

THE ROLE
During your internship you will work on a project in the Plasmon Nanotechnologies (https://plasna.iit.it/) group coordinated by Francesco De Angelis. This group focuses on Nanosensing applied to biology and medicine
Your activity will comprise
- sensor realization (clean room activities)
- practical measurements and data analysis
And will allow you to develop competences in
- Clean Room technologies (nanotechnologies)
- Advanced Spectroscopies and their translational uses
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- To be registered as a student in an undergraduate master’s degree programme in Biomedical engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a cognate field of study for the entire duration of your stay at IIT
- To have a good command of spoken and written English
- To rely on funding from your University’s Erasmus+ programme
