The position at a glance

The Compliance Function is an integrated function in BNP Paribas. This internship is in the Compliance Nearshoring Platform, specifically within the team in charge of large-scale strategic Transformation projects of the Americas Region across all types of Compliance risks.

In detail

What You’ll Do (4 Month Internship)

Support AI enabled projects by helping structure business problems into clear analytical questions
Participate in client’s problem solving, notably conducting exploratory analyses (e.g. on datasets, processes, etc.), identifying patterns, and drawing actionable insights
Define relevant AI / analytics approaches applicable to defined use cases
Contribute to decision support deliverables (slides, documents) for different audiences
Translate technical findings into clear, concise messages for non technical stakeholders
Participate in project governance meetings and support tracking of milestones and risks

How to move from ambiguous problems to structured, decision ready insights
How multidisciplinary teams (project, SMEs, IT, etc.) collaborate in practice
How analytical work informs strategic and operational decisions

Looking Ahead

This 4 month internship is designed as a focused, hands on experience. High performing interns may be considered for full-time opportunities.

Work conditions: This position provides for standard working conditions in an office and a normal work schedule from Monday to Friday.

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed

Required

Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program (Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or related).
Experience with AI/ML models.
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
Good written & verbal communication (English; French is a plus)*.
Appetite to work in a project-based mode.

Nice to have

Prior experience in a financial services or regulatory setting
Experience with AI/ML models for Financial Services
Introductory Python (pandas, scikit learn).
Experience with data management (data analysis, data quality, or governance).
Basic SQL (SELECT, JOIN) and familiarity with relational databases.
Familiarity with SharePoint site management.

• Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Professional working proficiency in English language is required.
