Role Description

This is a software engineering role designed for exceptional and motivated individuals who want to build high-quality, safe software in a fast-moving medical start-up, working on real systems used by clinicians across the healthcare system.

You’ll be embedded directly within our software team, working on production systems used by clinicians. You’ll contribute across the full stack, participate in design and code reviews, and learn how to balance speed, quality, and safety in healthcare software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship features across the full stack
• Design, develop, and deploy Generative AI solutions using transformer-based models (GPT, BERT, Diffusion models) on cloud platform (Azure)
• Build and fine-tune models using Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following stringent coding standards, architectural patterns, and security practices
• Collaborate with product, clinical, and engineering teammates
• Create and maintain documentation for all projects
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement and create innovative solutions
• Implement MLOps practices including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Awareness of Responsible AI & Security, including ethical AI principles, compliance frameworks, and guardrails for sensitive use cases

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AIML or equivalent.
• Preferably 3+ years of AI/ML development, 1+ year in Generative AI or relevant industry experience or equivalent
• Strong proficiency in Python, GO, Typescript, Svelte, FAST API, and frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face
• Proven debugging, testing, and code validation experience
• Excellent technical writing with attention to implementation detail

Mandatory Skills

• A solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
• Proficient in GIT
• Implementation of server-side logic using APIs
• Experience with cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• AI/ML development tools

• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization tools
• Experience with RAG, LangChain, or vector databases
• Understanding of Natural Language Processing fundamentals
• Experience with LLM evaluation methodologies

Frontend skills:

Backend skills:

• Python
• GO
• Exposure to RESTful API design and implementation
• Relational Database design and Queries

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration concepts
• Understanding of FHIR and HL7
• Experience using AI assisted software development (cursor, claude code, codex) in a responsible manner
